Thomas GRAHAM 23yrs
Ann GRAHAM 31yrs
Jane GRAHAM 3yrs
Richard CUMPSTY 67yrs (possibly Anne's father).
This census has Ann 8 years older than Thomas, but I think that Thomas was born in 1813, and only 2 years younger than Ann.

Ann GRAHAM 2yrs.
In this census his occupation was journeyman joiner and he was born at Sowerby, Cumberland, England.
According to family notes, Thomas was a very tall man and Ann was reasonably short. He was a Cabinet maker, she was a Mantua maker (a specialized dressmaker).
While I have not been able to locate passenger lists to verify when they came to Australia, a newspaper article in the 'Naracoorte Herald' on Friday 14th October 1921 refers to the death of Richard GRAHAM. It mentions that he came to Australia on the 'Carleton' with his parents in 1857, landing at Geelong, Victoria. The 'Carleton', left Liverpool, England on 3 Apr 1857 on arriving at Geelong, Victoria, on 9 Jul 1857. We think that with Thomas and Ann was Richard 12 yrs, Priscilla 11yrs and Ann 7yrs. According to the Public Record Office, Melbourne, they were all natives of Cumberland, C. of E. religion, and able to read and write.
According to family lore, there was a strike on in Melbourne, so the family went to Mount Talbot Station in Western Victoria, where Thomas was employed by Mr. Charles OFFICER to help build the new homestead. Thomas was engaged in his trade at 12 shillings per day. It is believed that Richard was also working as a carpenter. Priscilla married John ADAM at the new homestead on 2nd December 1862. She would have been 16 years old, and he would have been around 30 years old. Like Thomas GRAHAM, John ADAM was also a carpenter and it is believed that he built the staircase at Mount Talbot Station (and others later elsewhere), possibly the staircase at Straun House near Penola.

We know that Richard GRAHAM arrived in Naracoorte in 1868 (from his obit). Priscilla was married in Victoria in 1862 and had had her daughter Priscilla Annie at Ballarat in 1867 and her son John Roderick in Penola in 1869. It is a fair assumption that the GRAHAM family and Priscilla and her husband John ADAM possibly all arrived in Naracoorte in 1868.

Thomas GRAHAM (b.1813) d. 20 Jan 1886 (73yrs) at Naracoorte (formerly of Penola), Naracoorte Cemetery.
Ann GRAHAM (b. 1813) d. 5 Apr 1887 (74yrs) at Naracoorte, Naracoorte Cemetery.
